ABOUT NOTO
Word has gotten out about Sicily.
it's the island currently in everybody's summer plans... and for good reason.
Like its active volcano, this vibrant region of Italy erupts with history, culture, gastronomy, beaches, landscape, and people. 2025 is forecasted to be Sicily’s busiest summer ever, and this rapid increase in popularity will see travelers flocking to buzzword, “must see” towns, and Noto is one of these.
WHERE IS NOTO LOCATED YOU ASK?
Noto is located in southeastern Sicily. This region of southern Italy has all the history of Rome along with the small-town breezy seaside charm of the better-known Cinque Terre in Northern Italy.

UNESCO HERITAGE SITE
The original ancient city, like many others in these parts of Sicily, was home to Ancient Greeks, Romans, Normans, and Arabs before falling to the Christians in A.D 1091.
When the medieval village was leveled by an earthquake in 1693 and relocated nine miles away on a hill, it was rebuilt from the ground up by celebrated Sicilian architects and no expense was spared! A compact grid was laid out, streets were filled with an astonishing concentration of churches, private palaces and public buildings in a lush style now referred to as Sicilian Baroque.
There are thousands of cute old towns all over Sicily and all over Italy for that matter many would say... but none prettier than Noto which is also part of the UNESCO Heritage Site (alongside its other neighbouring towns of Ragusa, Modica and Scicli).
